On the long list of elegant and historic wedding venues that Mississippi has to offer, the King Edward Hotel stands proud as one of the most unforgettable. A landmark of the state, the hotel embodies the southern contemporary style of downtown Jackson that we all know and love. Listed on the National Register of Historic places in 1976 and declared a Mississippi Landmark in 1990, this venue holds a special place in the heart of many Mississippians.
Historic Story
Since its conception in 1861, the hotel has had an exciting life. Through the late 1800’s, the 1920’s, and into the 1950’s, the iconic site remained the go-to spot for southern socialites and politicians. The hotel was closed in 1967, but, thankfully, this was not the end of its story. After over forty years, the King Edward Hotel was repurchased and restored in 2007, with the ninety-million dollar project finally coming to completion in 2009.

Now a Hilton Garden Inn, the extravagant hotel has new features to perfectly accommodate you and your wedding party. On top of that, this classic location is more beautiful than ever.
