Charles Butterfield began building mansion in 1908 as a passion project for his bride, Vivienne. Her dream home was finally completed around 1910, and it became the largest private residence in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Recently reconstructed, the architecture and design of the estate displays both the trends of the old south and the extravagant update that brought it back to life. Drawing inspiration from the Greek Revival of the 18th and 19th century, the home was given intricate details, large columns, and Italian marble statues. This lavish venue also sports crystal chandeliers, a leather walled library, and the iconic grand staircase.

Speaking of the staircase, we cannot get enough of the elegant bridal portraits taken on this timelessly beautiful piece of the home. An interesting fact: the original design of the grand staircase was actually modeled after one of an ocean liner, adding to the list of wonderful amenities and personality traits this historic mansion has to offer. Acting as the centerpiece of the home, this staircase is a must for photographs.

Most recently, Butterfield Mansion has been purchased and restored by Jeff and Stacie Cross. Their team has worked tirelessly on restoring the nostalgic beauty and grace of the estate. They have repaired and renovated many aspects of the home including the beloved staircase, the large columns, and the lovely front portico.
