Why should you attend a wedding show? Planning a wedding is exciting, and at IDY, we love providing readers like you with inspiration and information to help you plan your big day. We get many of our ideas from a lot of the same places you do: blogs, magazines, social media and weddings our readers send us (which we LOVE. Submit yours here!).
But one of our most valuable resources is the relationship we have with hundreds of wedding professionals whose fingers are on the pulse of the latest wedding trends. From beauty to backdrops, these pros make it their business – literally – to make your wedding your best day ever.
How do you get access to these knowledgeable experts? We recommend you attend a local wedding show. In our series Wedding Show 101, we’ll be sharing information on everything from what to do at a wedding show to how to find and book the right wedding professionals for your big day.
January is peak wedding show season, but you can find shows and wedding events in your area all year long. IDY hosts the big Mississippi Gulf Coast Wedding Show in January, and some of our favorite wedding professionals will be there. If you’re in the area, get your tickets here.
If you’ve never been to a wedding show, you may be wondering…
…what is it?
Larger shows, like the ones described in the video, bring lots of wedding vendors together under one roof during an all-day event. Here’s a little sneak peek of what you can expect at The Mississippi Gulf Coast Wedding Show.
Smaller, boutique shows offer a more intimate atmosphere, often during the evening (think date night!), where you can spend more time talking one-on-one with an exclusive selection of wedding professionals. Both give attendees the opportunity to talk directly with vendors, see their work in person, and fit a lot of planning into one fun day.
After all, planning your wedding should be fun. The more you know about wedding shows before you walk through the door, the more prepared (and less stressed) you’ll feel when it comes time to make those final decisions.
