This coastal country wedding shoot by the IDY creative team is serving some MAJOR inspiration for our gals who want something a *little* different than your ordinary Southern soiree! It’s boho meets coastal meets good ol’ Southern realness, and we can’t get enough of it! Let’s just say it’s not your typical rustic country wedding or beach wedding. With no burlap or palm leafs in sight, instead we have envy-worthy attire, a sunset beach ceremony featuring a fabulous triangular wedding arch, and the perfectly put together dinner on the pier. What more could you need? Plus, this is a perfect inspiration for those of you who are maybe considering elopements, microweddings, or minimonies right now! It works for all of those AND for couples who are waiting for their larger gathering too.
Attire
Oh man, the attire in this coastal country wedding inspiration alone is enough to be swept off your feet! We’re always a big fan of bridal jumpsuits, but this two piece set with a lace overlay and wide legs is absolute 1970s heaven! Our bride topped off this look with her wide brim suede hat adorned with the most gorgeous florals from Bloom & Grow Co. and a fishtail braid peeking through. So effortless, yet so stylish. And not to mention, beyond comfortable! Our groom kept his attire handsomely straightforward with a vest and bowtie combo that complemented the color scheme oh so well. Bonus: you can wear either of these for your minimony or elopement only or rewear for your big day later on!
Details
If you thought the attire was amazing, just wait until you get a peek at the stunning details. Every part feels like it was made for one another. Take the invitations that perfectly match the entire mood for an example or the intimate dinner on the pier. An awesome part of this setup was that the place settings came from Belk, so you can recreate this look way after your wedding! And if you do, can we be invited? All for more cozy dinners on the pier!
Portraits
One great thing about having a microwedding, elopement, or minimony is that for the most part the timeline is all yours! With larger weddings with 200+ guests, there has to be some sort of a stricter schedule, but with a mini celebration, you can do whatever you like! Take for example, how our bride slipped into another gown and they had a photoshoot in the water. The results were beyond gorgeous with images that are downright breath-taking and oh so different than your other wedding photos.
