We could not wait to share this modern, beach wedding styled shoot with all of you! We just put this together less than two weeks ago, and we were dying to see the pictures. It was certainly worth the wait! If you’ve not spent any time on the gulf coast beaches in the fall, you have missed the prime time for visiting. The weather is absolutely gorgeous, the water is still warm enough for swimming, and the beaches are clear of crowds. Off season is the perfect time to book your gulf coast destination wedding too. We created our design on the sugar white sands in Orange Beach, Alabama at a gorgeous new beach house managed by Kaiser Realty, and we had most of the beach to ourselves. It felt like we were at our own private beach location. With a pair of homes nestled together, couples looking for an escape wedding can book a home big enough for a small group (ours slept 24), or they can reserve both homes in the collection where family and friends can spread out and have some privacy but still be right there together.
Since we wanted to create a fall to winter look for our beach inspired shoot, we decided on a tropical theme in a romantic color palette rather than the bright, multi-colored details usually associated with the look. Our husband and wife floral team of Bloom & Grow, Co. selected florals in varying shades of pink that they paired with palm greens and tropical touches like the most adorable, tiny pineapples. The colors were deep and saturated without the shocking vibrancy of summer seasonal florals.
Our bride wore beach waves with a loose braid and soft, romantic makeup with her Essence of Australia by Stella York gown from I Do Bridal & Formal. We dressed our groom in a season appropriate velvet jacket with a black satin lapel and tie from Belk. The deep green velvet coat complemented the tropical greenery of the floral design. A simple palm leaf and balloon arch facing the rolling surf of the gulf created a lovely backdrop for our ceremony. Reception tables were set up both inside the home and on the main floor deck next to the pool to take advantage of the incredible view. Tables were decked out with organic shaped floral arrangements, soft pink candles, and the cutest pink flamingo plates as a nod to the tropical vibe. While we really maintained simplicity in our design, the tiny details paired with the powerful floral design made this look both incredibly elegant while easy to execute – exactly what you want in a destination wedding!
There are worse places to get ready for your ceremony than this beautiful king room with it’s private balcony overlooking the beach.Stylist, Tracy Branch created this stunning loose braid and soft, beach waves.
We are slightly obssessed with these teeny-tiny pineapples. This super-cute detail added such a fun, tropical touch to the design.
We loved the sense of whimsy these balloons added to the ceremony arch.
Can’t you just picture yourself walking down this bridge to meet your partner waiting for you on the sand?
How cute are these flamingos with flower crown glasses?
We paired flamingo print salad plates with traditional white china and a sparkly pink charger for a fresh, fun look.
This tropical, water-color cake was beautiful on its own, but we could not resist adding two precious mini-pineapples as our topper. We did mention that we’re obsessed with these, right?
The feel of the sun, the salt air, and the softly crashing waves – what could be better than an al fresco reception above the beach?
This secluded lower deck was a great spot to get away for some couple shots.
Our couple slipped away to the covered lower level for a few private moments.
