It’s Throwback Thursday, and we are revisiting one of our favorite styled shoots from our sister publication, Premier Wedding Magazine. This fairy tale inspired shoot from 2016 still has so much to inspire engaged couples. Every bride wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day and have her ‘happily ever after” moment as she walks down the aisle. As southerners, we spend an inordinate amount of time outdoors, and nature is just a part of our every day lives. It makes perfect sense to set our fairy tale shoot in the woods of Mississippi, at McClain Lodge, a gorgeous, rustic event center that boasts 2,000 beautiful acres complete with a welcoming, tranquil lake, and acres of scenic wilderness. In addition to the main event hall, this stunning venue offers an outdoor ceremony spot with stone mantle, a charming chapel, a picturesque gazebo on the lake and so much more.
Pulling from nature, the palette for our design included deep greens, browns and rich burgundy. Rustic and natural elements were paired with luxurious velvet chairs, embroidered linens and gold metallics for a lush, elegant look on our sweetheart table set deep in the woods. We carried the fairy tale theme throughout the bridal gown spread as well with our models all glammed up like modern day royalty. A warning to those princess brides – be careful about accepting any apples.
