{Wedding of Jessica Finlay Dana & Lucas Maclain Simmons}

When Lucky Town Brewery’s owner and brewmaster, Lucas Simmons, decided to pop the question to girlfriend Jessica Dana, there was only one place to do it – right there at the brewery! Jackson’s only craft beer brewery, Lucky Town, was started in Midtown in December 2013 by Lucas and his partners. Soon thereafter, Jessica realized that her future was going to require a move from Nashville. “I saw how passionate he was about making his dream a reality, and so in 2013 I decided that if we were going to take our relationship to the next level I needed to move to Jackson since his future was going to be there.”

When the couple started to plan their wedding, Jessica said that it just made sense to use the location as their ceremony venue as their growth as a couple was intertwined with the development of Lucky Town as a business. “ “Even though it hasn’t always been specifically about drinking beer, Lucky Town and beer have been an important aspect in our relationship from the beginning, and as I began to think about our wedding, I felt that Lucky Town had become such an important part of our lives that it would only be fitting to have our ceremony there.”

Once that decision was made, Jessica decided to embrace the idea and incorporate their passion for their business in many of their event details. Beer coasters served as their save the date cards, and the invitations featured bottle caps and pint glasses. The floral décor included hops, and the couple replaced the traditional champagne flute toast with monogrammed pint glasses filled with craft beer. Jessica’s bachelorette trip even centered around brewery tours in Louisiana!.

The couple chose Duling Hall as their reception venue as they needed to find a venue where they could serve their own craft beers. For the wedding, Lucas brewed four specialty beers – Something Old, an old ale, Something New, a new recipe, Something Borrowed, a borrowed recipe, and Something Blue, a beer with Blue Raspberry Jolly Ranchers – to serve as signature cocktails at the reception.

By including their passion in the details of their wedding, Jessica and Lucas planned a truly unique occasion that was both special to them and unforgettable for their guests.
