I DO Y'ALL

Premier Picks: Favorite Cakes

These cakes are too beautiful to cut into.  But the brides do anyway and then the bride and groom plus all their guests get to enjoy the sweet  “deliciousness” of cake.  Yummy!  Enjoy my favorite cakes below.  All of these have appeared in a featured wedding in one of the two 2015 issues of Premier Bride.  (Note:  I listed the baker first and then the photographer.)

That Special Touch ∣ Followell Fotography

I love the delicate scroll work, almost like lace with the fresh flowers that look like they were just picked from the garden.  That Special Touch in Pearl always has beautiful cakes that are equally as delicious.

Cotton Blues – Shaun Davis ∣ Daniel Miegs Photography

Shaun’s cakes not only look fabulous, but taste great, too!  What I like about this cake are the twigs with the variety of flowers, roses and daisies.  It has almost a whimsical look and fell.  Shaun Davis is the pastry chef extraordinaire at Cotton Blues in Hattiesburg.

The Cake Diva ∣ Pound Photography

Elegance, grandeur, sheer perfection describe this beautiful cake.  From the original plateau/cake stand to the dramatic lighting, The Cake Diva’s cake is truly a show piece!

That Special TouchSharon Coker Photography

This four tiered cake looks like it is covered in delicate lace.  It almost looks like lace from a bridal gown.  The intricacy of the cake with the little white candies is striking and beautiful.  I expect nothing less from That Special Touch in Pearl.

Cups-n-Cakes ∣ Sulley Clemmer Photography

This two-tiered cake has so much going for it.  From the display on the pieces of wood to the topper of the Art Deco couple, of course, this cake make to my favorites.  I love the monogram on the top layer and the chevron with the dots on the bottom layer.  Kudos to Cups-n-Cakes in Byram.

Creative Cakes ∣ Taylor Square Productions

Creative Cakes in Tupelo was so innovative with this cake.  Each layer of this three-tiered cake has a different design.  It doesn’t need a topper.  Having the toppers from the parents’ weddings is enough.

Hollywood Casino ∣ Th3ee Photography

It takes a master pastry chef with a bit of engineering to present such a statement piece.  And that is what Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis did.  This is more than a wedding cake.  And it truly sets the tone for the entire reception.  From the fluidity of the bottom tier to the bling in between, what bride wouldn’t want this for her wedding.

Melissa’s Specialty Cakes ∣ Tilley Photography

Melissa’s Specialty Cakes in Long Beach are always beautiful and always tasty.  Melissa took a simple cake and let the elegant flowers do the rest.  Truly this is one of my favorites!
