Most weddings have family and friends that come from out-of-town for the celebration. Here are eight tips for arranging their accomodations:
- Consider your out-of-town guests needs
- Reserve a block of rooms. This gives your wedding guests a lower group rate.
- See if your hotel will offer additional services such as a hospitality suite, free breakfast or cocktails, or special checkout considerations
- Consider the different economic needs of your out-of-town guests by providing two or three options with varying price ranges.
- Although it is the bride’s duty to recommend accomodtions for out-of-town guests, it is not the bride’s duty to pay for them.
- Email or have a wedding website with information about accomodations. Include the toll free number, the name or code under which the rooms are reserved, shuttle service and other pertinent information.
- Usually the bride and groom arrange transportaion to and from the ceremony and reception locations for all out-of-town guests. Some may have buses or vans; others use family and friends to transport out-of-town guests.
- Make sure the accomodations are comfortable for your guests. For many of your guests, your wedding is also a vacation. Be considerate.
